Most of what you're paying for happens before any colour goes on. That's the part that decides whether a room still looks good after a few winters of radiators, wet coats and small hands.

Awkward heights and spindles, done off proper access rather than a ladder balanced on a step.
Bedrooms
Low-odour trade paints, so the room is usable again the same evening.
Kitchens and bathrooms
Moisture-resistant finishes that won't flake above a shower or a hob.
Woodwork and doors
Knotted, primed and finished in eggshell or satin, with the brush marks laid off.
Wallpapering
Feature walls and full rooms, lined first where the plaster needs it.
Whole houses
New builds and full renovations decorated throughout, working to a builder's programme.
Rentals and holiday lets
Quick turnarounds between tenants or bookings, worked around changeover days.
Cheap quotes come out of the prep
When one quote comes in at half another, it's almost never the paint that's different. It's the filling, the caulking, the sanding and the priming, the days that don't show up in a photograph.
You won't see the difference on the day. You'll see it the first winter, when the caulk lines crack and the bare patches flash through in daylight.
Common questions
How long does a room take?
An average room including woodwork is usually two to three days. Wallpaper or heavy filling adds a day.
Do I need to empty the room?
Just the small things. Furniture gets moved to the middle and sheeted, and it all goes back at the end.
Do you supply the paint?
Either way. We can supply at trade price, or use what you've already bought. We'll tell you honestly if it isn't right for the job.
Can you help me choose a colour?
Yes, and there's no charge. We'll bring sample pots, put them on the wall and come back to look at them in daylight before you commit.
