The hardest part isn't the painting
Most people know roughly what they want and then lose weeks agonising over which of four almost identical greys it is. A two-inch card in a bright shop tells you almost nothing about how a colour will look on your wall.
So we bring sample pots out, put them up properly, and come back to look at them with you in daylight. It costs nothing and it saves a lot of repainting.

Three things that catch people out
North-facing rooms go cold. A grey that looks warm in the shop will read blue and flat in a room that never gets direct sun. Warm whites and clay tones do far more work in those rooms.
Sheen changes the colour. The same shade in matt, eggshell and satin looks like three different colours. Woodwork almost always reads darker than the wall in the same tin.
Small samples lie. A patch the size of a postcard is surrounded by your old colour, which skews how you see it. We paint sample boards big enough to actually judge.
Common questions
Does the colour visit cost anything?
No. It's part of quoting the job properly, and there's no obligation to book anything afterwards.
Will you tell me what you think?
If you want us to, yes. We see a lot of rooms and we'll say honestly if a colour is going to fight the light in yours.
Can you match an existing colour?
Usually. Bring us a chip of the old paint or a cupboard door and we can get very close.
What about Farrow & Ball and the like?
No problem at all. We'll tell you where a trade equivalent will look identical for a lot less, and where it genuinely won't.
